Whiskey Row Lofts celebrated its grand opening with a “Magic on Main” fundraiser in support of Maryhurst. The celebration featured performances by comedic magician Mac King and David Garrard in the newly renovated Squirrelly's Magic Tea Room, food by Jarfi's Catering, a silent auction, and an art sale. Located across from the Yum! Center, the $10 million re-developed Whiskey Row Lofts is a mixed use space, including restaurant, offices, apartments, and entertainment spaces like “The Magic Theatre,” which was rededicated at the opening. Co-developers Val and Steve Jones retained many of the structure’s unique architectural details but used natural lighting and green spaces to provide a eco-friendly update.
Proceeds from the evening benefit Maryhurst, a home and support organization for many neglected and abused girls, where CEO Judy Lambeth and her staff work a different kind of magic . . . conjuring hope for girls who have nowhere else to turn. Maryhust was recently featured by Diane Sawyer on ABC News' 20/20.
