Hannah Wilson and Anthony Creek will forever be the first couple to be married in The Green Building. The 115-year-old former dry goods store is now a modern and versatile space that is home to eco-friendly materials, renewable energy systems, extensive solar power, geothermal wells, and recycled denim insulation. It was the perfect setting for their handmade wedding.

Hannah, a fan of vintage and thrifted goods, carried an heirloom bouquet made from brooches that she and her mom collected from antique stores, Goodwill, the Unique Thrift Store and mostly her Grandma Wilson’s collection of vintage brooches. Hannah’s family farm was the source of the wood centerpieces (from an old tree that had to be cut down) and of the wood wall (an old fence), which Anthony made to serve as the altar. Family and friends made the 1,000 origami cranes, a traditional gift of happiness and prosperity for the couple. It was a handmade labor of love truly befitting the spirit of the Green Building.

Originally from this area, Hannah and Anthony currently live in Los Angeles but are moving back to Louisville to open a store, Heritage & Co., in summer 2011.
